From the Artist - LaDonna Victoriano:
The design that I used for my project is a pottery design. I used the polychrome style for this particular project. I usually use the black on white style which I use on my pottery but I wanted to add color to this design. The orange I used on the top border is a representation of the sun and also the sunrise. When orange is used on the bottom of the pottery that represents the sunset. For the bottom border I used a scallop style to represent cumulus clouds and the large bold triangular shapes are the past, present and future with rain patterns. Three small clouds represent the homes built atop of Acoma. These clouds represent love, honor, and respect. After the rains come the beautiful and sometimes fragrant wild flowers that bloom in the valleys of Acoma Pueblo. I painted the flowers so that everyone that enters that area can feel special about themselves.  We all grow into our own wild flowers. The border in the shower area is calling for rain in the Four Directions while the sun shines on for another prosperous day.
